Job Description – Neonatologist (PRN/Holiday Coverage)
Specialty: Neonatology – NICU & Nursery
Location: Washington, DC
Start Date: November 17, 2025
Contract Length: ~6 months, PRN
Schedule & Coverage
-
PRN shifts, especially last 2 weeks of December
-
12- or 24-hour shifts (days/nights, flexible)

No call required
-
Delivery room presence + resuscitation

Average daily census:
-
Nursery: 5–10
-
Level II NICU: up to 15
-
Work Environment

Level II NICU (6 beds)

EMR: Cerner
-
Support: Delivery & nursery team onsite
Requirements
-
Board Certified in Neonatology
-
Active DC license (IMLC not accepted)
-
NRP certified
-
DEA + DC CSR
-
BLS required
-
Minimum 2 years’ Level II NICU experience
Credentialing
-
~45–60 days
-
Interview: Call with Chief of Regional Based Specialties, followed by 1–2 reference checks (decision within 72 business hours)
