Job description Seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Neonatologist to join a dynamic team in Elmira, NY. The role involves providing high-quality neonatal intensive care in a collaborative environment, supported by NNPs, pediatric subspecialists, and maternal-fetal medicine services. Physicians can benefit from block scheduling and commuter-friendly arrangements while working in a region known for its scenic Finger Lakes, wineries, and outdoor lifestyle.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care in a 20-bed Level III NICU with ~300 admissions/year and census of 13–15.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and manage critically ill newborns.
• Collaborate with neonatal nurse practitioners (NNPs) who provide 24-hour coverage and transport call.
• Manage neonatal cases requiring conventional ventilation and HFOV.
• Handle neonatal transports from referring hospitals in surrounding counties.
• Work collaboratively with maternal-fetal medicine specialists and pediatric subspecialists.

Qualifications

• Board Eligible (within 5 years of fellowship) or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine – Required.
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics – Required.
• New York medical license (or ability to obtain) – Required.
• DEA license (must be obtained prior to start) – Required.
• Not accepting visa or locums candidates.
• New graduates accepted (fellowship must be completed before start).

Working Hours

• Full-Time Equivalent schedule: 8 × 24-hour in-house shifts per month (block scheduling).
• No on-call requirements outside scheduled shifts.

Skills

• Expertise in neonatal intensive care and high-risk perinatal management.
• Strong teamwork and communication in multidisciplinary settings.
• Proficiency in neonatal ventilation techniques including HFOV.
• Ability to manage neonatal transport and stabilization.
• Commitment to evidence-based medicine and high-quality patient care.
