We are seeking a Board-Certified Neonatologist to provide locum coverage at a Level II+ NICU in New York. The position involves a mix of in-house day shifts and out-of-hospital overnight call, with a flexible schedule over two coverage periods. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a small census in a collaborative environment with strong support staff.

Requirements:

Board Certification in Neonatology – REQUIRED

Active NY Medical License – REQUIRED
-
BLS, NALS, and PALS certifications – REQUIRED

Previous experience in a Level II or higher NICU preferred

Strong communication and teamwork skills
Additional Information:

All travel-related expenses including mileage, rental car, and hotel accommodations will be reimbursed per policy.

No supervisory responsibilities required.
Job Responsibilities
Provide care in a Level II+ NICU (15 beds, ADC 4.5)
Attend deliveries as requested
Assist with rounding in the mother-baby unit (ADC ~11) as needed
Collaborate with pediatricians, nursery nurses, lactation consultants, RTs, and social workers
Utilize Cerner for documentation
Working Hours
Period 1:
July 21 (Mon) 8 AM – August 1 (Fri) 8 AM
ON: Monday, Tuesday
OFF: Wednesday, Thursday
ON: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
OFF: Monday, Tuesday
ON: Wednesday, Thursday
Period 2:
August 25 (Mon) 8 AM – September 5 (Fri) 8 AM
Same pattern as above
Shift Details:
24-hour shifts: 8 AM – 6 PM in-house
Overnight call: 6 PM – 8 AM (out of hospital)
