Neonatologist Opening - Covington, LA ~ Located 40 minutes from New Orleans Position Details

  • Seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Neonatologist to join a growing team at a community Level III NICU
  • 24/7 in-house Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) coverage
  • Active participation in the Vermont Oxford Network and eligibility to engage in system-wide neonatal QI initiatives
  • Part of a larger integrated neonatal care system with ground and air transport support

Facility Details The NICU is part of a broader network offering Level III and IV NICU services throughout Louisiana Ongoing construction of a new 5-story, dedicated Children s Hospital, opening in 2028 Comprehensive children s program includes: - 67-bed Level IV NICU - 14-bed PICU - 12-bed Pediatric CV-ICU - 4-bed Level IV NAEC-accredited Pediatric EMU - 44-bed Pediatric Acute Unit with dedicated Pediatric ER - 24/7 Pediatric and Neonatal Transport Team (rotary, fixed-wing, and ground) Over 270 pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists Other Opportunities Affiliation with an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program Teaching opportunities with Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency and students from Tulane University and the University of Queensland, Australia Active participant in multi-center research studies and clinical trials Development of the Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine currently underway Community Details Located in St. Tammany Parish on the Northshore, just across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans Suburban lifestyle with affordable living and top-rated public schools (average rating 8/10) Outdoor activities include biking, fishing, and exploring scenic parks
