Join a Leading Neonatology Team in Richmond, VA

Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, Richmond’s largest delivery center, is seeking a compassionate, Board Certified/Board Eligible Neonatologist to join a highly collaborative and innovative team. Our facility features a Level III NICU, providing 24/7 in-house coverage in a state-of-the-art single-family room environment dedicated to excellence in neonatal care.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional neonatal intensive care in a 40-bed Level III NICU.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated group of Neonatologists for round-the-clock in-house coverage.
  • Utilize advanced therapies such as HFOV, HFJV, inhaled nitric oxide, and therapeutic hypothermia.
  • Work alongside on-site pediatric surgery and cardiology specialists for comprehensive care.
  • Coordinate with a nurse-led neonatal transport team for patient transfers and emergency situations.
  • Deliver care in a single-family room NICU model that prioritizes family-centered care.
  • No requirement to cover the newborn nursery; focus exclusively on NICU patients.
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and collaborative clinical research.
  • Contribute to a team culture that values innovation, education, and compassionate family support.
  • Not accepting Locums candidates.
  • Not accepting visa candidates.

Qualifications:

  • Board Eligible (within 5 years of eligibility) or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics.
  • Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain a Virginia license.
  • Clean malpractice and license history is highly preferred.

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Medical license to practice in Virginia (or willingness to obtain).
  • Board Certified (BC) Pediatrics.
  • Board Eligible (BE) or Board Certified (BC) in Neonatology.
