Job Opportunity: Medical Director - Neonatology
Join a Leading Neonatology Team in Roanoke, VA! We are seeking a full-time, dedicated Neonatologist to join an esteemed group of ten neonatologists and five neonatal nurse practitioners at a regional perinatal center in beautiful Roanoke, VA. Enjoy practicing advanced neonatology medicine while embracing the vibrant small-town lifestyle nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide expert neonatal care at a 60-bed regional perinatal center and a 6-bed Level 2 NICU.
- Manage and lead NICU operations as Medical Director or serve as Associate Medical Director, ensuring high-quality clinical care.
- Oversee advanced NICU services, including high-frequency ventilation, whole body cooling, and nitric oxide therapy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary pediatric and maternal-fetal medicine subspecialists.
- Support medical education by working with medical students and residents.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in research within the Virginia Neonatal Perinatal Collaborative.
- Provide clinical coverage including day shifts, on-call, and weekend duties as needed.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and participate in leadership meetings and committees.
- This is a permanent, full-time position requiring residency within the local area. Relocation may be necessary.

Qualifications
- Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Neonatology.
- Neonatal leadership experience is required for the Medical Director role.
- Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain.
- Clean malpractice and medical license history is highly preferred.
- Relocation to the local area is required.
- DEA must be obtained prior to start.
License and Certification Requirements
