Join Our Dynamic Neonatology Team in Wichita, Kansas

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Neonatologist to join a well-respected and established Neonatology practice located in the vibrant city of Wichita, Kansas. This position offers a unique chance to be part of an evolving quality improvement team in a Level-III, 60-bed NICU at Wesley Medical Center, where approximately 6,000 deliveries take place each year. Our facility supports a team-oriented approach and is affiliated with KU School of Medicine – Wichita, providing extensive quality improvement and research opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Full-time BC/BE Neonatologist position available
  • Participate in an 8-physician practice with a combination of 8 and 24-hour shifts on a 7-week rotating schedule
  • Provide in-house call and backup call from home
  • Manage an average daily census of 54 in the intensive and special care units, with around 1,000 admissions annually
  • Support provided by residents and nurse practitioners
  • Opportunities for involvement in quality improvement initiatives and research
  • Open to new fellow graduate candidates if already BC in Pediatrics
  • Not accepting Locums candidates
  • Visa support available for J1 & H1B candidates

Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Pediatrics (REQUIRED)
  • Truly Board Eligible (within 5 years of fellowship working toward BC) or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (REQUIRED)
  • Kansas medical license (or willing to obtain) (REQUIRED)
  • Fellowship-trained in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (to be completed prior to start) (REQUIRED)
  • Clean malpractice and license history (HIGHLY PREFERRED)
  • Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active) (REQUIRED)
  • DEA (must be obtained prior to start) (REQUIRED)

License and Certification Requirements

  • Board Certified in Pediatrics
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
  • Kansas medical license or willingness to acquire
  • DEA registration by start date
