Job Title: Neonatologist

Pediatrix Medical Group is excited to announce an opportunity for a full-time Neonatologist to join a dedicated 5-physician practice located at a premier healthcare facility in Topeka, Kansas. This position offers a chance to thrive in a vibrant Midwest capital city known for its affordable cost of living, making it an ideal setting for both professional and personal life.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Full-time BC/BE Neonatologist position available.
  • Combination of 8 and 24-hour shifts on a 7-week rotating schedule; approximately 170 hours of in-house coverage per month.
  • Provide in-house call and backup call from home.
  • Deliver comprehensive services within a Level-III, 36-bed NICU.
  • Utilize advanced services including high-frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, total body cooling, and aEEG.
  • Manage an average daily census of 26 with an average length of stay of 19 days.
  • Handle approximately 500 admissions annually.
  • Access to pediatric subspecialty support in Cardiology, Neurology, General Surgery, and Endocrinology.
  • Participate in a NICU that has maintained The Joint Commission Disease Specific Certification in the Care of Premature Babies since 2012.
  • Open to new Fellow graduate candidates who are Board Certified in Pediatrics.
  • Not accepting Locums candidates.
  • Open to J1 & H1B visa candidates.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in Pediatrics.
  • Truly Board Eligible (within 5 years of fellowship working toward BC) or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
  • Kansas medical license (or willingness to obtain).
  • Fellowship-trained in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (to be completed prior to start).
  • Clean malpractice and license history is highly preferred.
  • DEA (must be obtained prior to start).
  • Visa support requested for J1 or H1B candidates, if applicable.

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Kansas medical license.
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics.
  • Fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (to be completed before start).
  • Clean malpractice and license history is highly preferred.
  • DEA must be obtained before starting position.
