NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health (formerly Coney Island Hospital), located in Southern Brooklyn, accommodates more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

We are currently accepting applications and referrals for a full-time or part-time (3 days per week) Division Chief of the Gynecology Oncology Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility for oversight of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology
  • Provide quality oversight of the Departmental staff with respect to Gynecologic Oncology
  • Formulate a comprehensive strategy and plan to enhance the clinical quality of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology
  • Foster a collaborative and multidisciplinary practice that includes General Gynecology, as well as the subspecialties including, but not limited to the following: family planning, gynecology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and ambulatory surgery
  • Implement strategies to expand gynecologic surgery volume within the Department of OB/GYN
  • Maintain a schedule that ensures coverage of surgical emergencies within the Department of OB/GYN, in conjunction with the Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery
  • Provide leadership in the areas of medical education and research
  • Work with appropriate medical leadership, and provide clinical direction to direct reports to set patient care standards, establish clinical goals and objects to ensure the strategic implementation of best practices and program development in their respective disciplines
  • Provides remote call coverage for surgical emergencies

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Board Certified in Gynecology Oncology
  • Possess or eligible for a New York State Medical License
  • Cultural sensitivity to a diverse and under-served patient population a must
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required prior to hire

Compensation:

  • Min USD: $340,000.00 Annually
  • Max USD: $340,000.00 Annually
