Immediate need for a Medical Director in Atlanta Georgia. This is a locum tenens/temporary position.

Outpatient Clinic

February - May 2021

Monday-Friday

8 hour shifts

Interim Medical Director

The interim Director will be expected to be housed at the downtown clinic site. This position will be required to perform administrative and clinical duties of the Medical Director: 70% admin/30% clinical time. This position may need to work outside of the clinic hours on occasion. The Medical Director is responsible for oversight of all clinical functions with the help of the Associate Director including supervising 5 advance practice clinicians: being responsive to their questions and reviewing their charts. The director is expected to see patients mainly via telehealth but there may be circumstances in which they may need to have an in-person encounter.

Administrative meetings include but are not limited to, weekly meetings with the COVID Task Force, frequent meetings with the Testing team, biweekly meetings of the Regents Advisory Committee, weekly meetings with the Associate Director, monthly provider meetings, and monthly staff meetings. The director must be responsible to campus requests for clinical expertise from various sources including Housing, Marketing and Communications, HR, Student Engagement, etc. The director may be asked to participate in recruitment interviews. The director will also be responsible for completing payroll/timesheets for employees. They will have to approve leave of monthly employees and approve time for student employees.

The director will have oversight of all COVID-19 testing, case investigation/contact tracing, and testing efforts. With support personnel, they will ensure that testing sites are working as needed; ensure that those with positive test results are funneled into case investigation; support the COVID case manager in following up on case/contact reports and ensuring DPH reports are completed; and managing the vaccination test sites.
