Coney Island Hospital, located in a pleasant Southern Brooklyn neighborhood, is a multi-site community medical center with 387 beds located . It is a designated stroke center and Level II perinatal unit. Coney Island Hospital holds an academic affilaition with SUNY Downstate - where a faculty appointment awaits you!
Full time Chairperson for Department of Ambulatory Medicine.
Primary Function:
Direct, oversee, manage and evaluate all aspects of clinical services and medical education provided by members of the Department to deliver accredited medical services that meet all medical standards required by law; perform full range of administrative/operational responsibilities to ensure the efficient achievement of departmental goals.
Responsibilities:
•Prepare division staff schedules
•Review, approve/deny and sign off on leave of absence requests, including CME
•Review, approve/deny and sign off on time sheets and session sheets
•Prepare monitor and follow up on division performance indicators
•Prepare strategic planning for the Division
•Prepare monthly schedules for teaching of students and residents
•Foster the academic development of the Department members
•Participate with the Hospital in the development and implementation of mechanisms and measures to optimize the appropriate utilization of medical services, quality assurance and patient satisfaction at the Hospital
•Participate in Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY)'s leadership through local governance council and, if selected, potential participation of the PAGNY governing board
•Participate in other related responsibilities as assigned by the Employer, the Executive Director and/or the Medical Director of the Hospital.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Must be Board Certified, demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities, maturity in clinical practice in area of specialty
•Ambulatory Internal Medicine experience preferred
Required Qualifications:
•Must have valid and unrestricted NYS license to practice medicine
•Valid DEA registration
•BLS/ACLS
