Assistant Director, Emergency Department, North Central Bronx Hospital

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center and its sister institution, North Central Bronx (NCB) Hospital is recruiting for an Assistant Site Director for the Emergency Department at North Central Bronx Hospital.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of Jacobi & NCB Emergency Medicine leadership, the NCB ED Assistant Director will assistant in running all aspects of the day to day NCB ED operations, will be charged with assuring high-quality patient centered clinical care, creating efficient patient flow, providing meaningful professional development for staff and serving the needs of the NCB community. The Assistant Director will focus on improving operational metrics and patient satisfaction scores as well as position the ED and hospital for success in the changing healthcare environment. The Assistant Director will be actively involved in the education and professional development of a fantastic Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant group. The applicant must have excellent interpersonal, administrative and team building skills.

The Assistant Director will be a faculty member of the larger Department of Emergency Medicine at Jacobi and NCB; will have clinical privileges on both campuses, as well as a faculty appointment at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. There will be expectations to participate in the educational and academic mission of the Jacobi / Montefiore EM Residency Program and the Medical School. Affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Jacobi is one of the premiere Emergency Medicine Residency training programs in the country. The Residency Program has 84 Emergency Medicine residents (21 per year) and has programs in Hyperbarics, Ultrasound, Simulation, and Trauma.

Qualifications:

  • Board eligible or board certified in Emergency Medicine
  • Successful completion of an ACGME approved residency in Emergency Medicine
  • Applicant will have experience as a physician leader with an ability to oversee operations, work collaboratively with other departments to ensure delivery of patient centered coordinated care and ensure optimum use of resources to achieve superior outcomes in alignment with the institutional mission of improving health of the community.
