Physician Advisor opportunity located in Greater Binghamton, NY
Located about 70 miles from Syracuse; 180 miles from NYC; 180 miles from Philadelphia, PA

This position serves as a clinical resource and consultant to Nurse Case Managers and other health care professionals providing identification, facilitation and resolution of utilization issues through phone contact and face-to-face rounds. Responsibilities also include addressing issues of medical necessity, compliance, level of care, length of stay, readmission review, resource management, etc. Participation required in process improvement discussions to improve clinical outcomes, compliance with regulatory requirements, and address reimbursement barriers. Physician Advisor will also advise, assist and educate physicians, advanced practice providers, nurse care managers, nurses and all others involved in the delivery of timely, appropriate and cost effective care.
Qualifications: Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Residency trained physician, Board Certified / Board Eligible; experience desired.
