Top academic hospital in Brooklyn looking for a Vice Chair of Obstetrics to serve as a true #2 to the Chair of the Department. This is an employed position with a base salary, quality bonus, CME money, opportunity for moonlighting and standard hospital benefits including malpractice coverage
Job Description:
Compensation : $500000 - $800000 Job ID : 43651
Job Function:
Work in a Level III NICU with 24/7 Maternal-Fetal Medicine and OB-Anesthesia coverage.
Lead clinical operations across Obstetrics, Labor & Delivery, and Mother-Baby units.
Focus heavily on high-risk obstetrics; MFM fellowship strongly preferred.
Maintain a split role with approximately 40–50% clinical and 50–60% administrative responsibilities.
Provide clinical oversight, develop protocols, and lead quality and safety initiatives.
Collaborate closely with the VP of Nursing on inpatient quality and care workflows.
Support a highly inpatient-focused role with minimal ambulatory responsibilities.
Work collaboratively with the OB/GYN Hospitalist Lead, Residency Program Director, and additional hospitalists.
Participate in a light Labor & Delivery call rotation (approximately once every few months).
Report directly to the Department Chair.
Job Requirements:
- MFM fellowship training.
- Prior experience managing physician leaders and residency engagement.
- Experience writing or implementing clinical protocols.
- Academic credentials suitable for appointment at local medical school.
- 10+ years of experienc in Obstetrics with demonstrated leadership.
