St. Anthony's
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will report to and work closely with the President & CEO, while partnering with senior leaders and the Board of Directors to develop and execute organizational strategy. This executive will play a key role in shaping policies, advancing quality initiatives, and ensuring alignment with St. Anthony's short- and long-term goals. The CMO will also provide leadership to employed, contracted, and aligned medical staff, as well as contracted medical directors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of systems and processes that promote the highest standards of quality, patient safety, and evidence-based care.
- Oversee, guide, and support medical management decisions to ensure optimal patient outcomes while aligning with organizational objectives.
- Conduct routine chart reviews and audits, including spot checks, as part of ongoing Quality Assurance initiatives.
- Engage with medical staff on a regular, ongoing basis to identify opportunities for clinical improvement.
- Cultivate strong, collegial relationships with physicians and clinical team members to enhance engagement and support high-quality patient care.
- Advise Administration on clinical strategy and recommend solutions to medical and operational challenges.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Valid Iowa MD/DO license with no history of disciplinary action; board-certified or board-eligible in area of specialty.
- Current DEA license.
- Minimum of five years of healthcare experience required.
Position Details
This role includes 50-60% clinical practice, with the remainder dedicated to CMO and administrative responsibilities.
