🩺 Role Overview

As a Medical Director, you will support medical review operations, evaluate inpatient clinical scenarios, and apply national guidelines to determine medical necessity. This role requires exceptional clinical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to work within a structured, process-driven team.

📌 Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive and timely medical necessity reviews

  • Apply CMS regulations, national guidelines, and organizational policies

  • Maintain productivity, quality, and compliance standards

  • Communicate determinations clearly—verbally & in writing

  • Collaborate with external providers to gather clinical details

  • Adapt to evolving tools, workflows, and utilization management practices

  • Work independently after mentored training while supporting team goals

  • Maintain consistency and integrity in decision-making

🎯 Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree

  • Minimum 5 years post-residency/fellowship clinical experience

  • Current ABMS board certification

  • Active unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and clinical reasoning skills

  • No federal or state sanctions

  • Team-oriented mindset with professional integrity

🌟 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Medicare Advantage, Managed Medicaid, or commercial payers

  • Prior utilization management experience

  • Familiarity with MCG®, InterQual, CMS guidelines

  • Hospital-based background (IM, FM, Geriatrics, EM, Hospitalist, etc.)

  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with digital review platforms

  • Experience with education, presentations, or clinical content creation

🕒 Working Hours

  • Full-time: 40 hrs/week

  • Rotating weekend coverage

  • 100% remote from any U.S. location (must reside in the U.S.)
