Top academic hospital in Brooklyn looking for a Director of Labor & Delivery (or could be called "Director of Inpatient Obstetrics") due to a pending retirement. This is an employed position with a base salary, quality bonus, CME money, opportunity for moonlighting and standard hospital benefits including malpractice coverage.

Job Description:


Compensation : $475000 - $500000 Job ID : 34494

Job Function:

  • Approximately 70% clinical and 30% administrative time.
  • Clinical time could be taking laborist shifts (typically 12 hrs but can be 24) or if have fellowship training may spend time on antepartum unit.
  • Will have 30% protected administrative time to heavily work on QI projects for the department.
  • Collaboration with anesthesia, pediatrics, maternity/postpartum - reports directly to the Chair of ObGyn.
  • A lead ObGyn hospitalist with team of 5 laborists + CNM would report into you - there are in the process of starting an Ob-hospitalist fellowship program.
  • Level 3 NICU with 24/7 Maternal Fetal Medicine and Ob-Anesthesia Coverage.
  • 2 DaVinci robots, surgical cases only done as needed from triage, no specific dedicated time here.

Job Requirements:

  • Residency training in ObGyn required, MFM fellowship can be considered.
  • NY License required.
  • Experience in Quality Improvement (QI) Required.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility required.
  • 10+ yrs experience required.

Qualifications

Residency training in ObGyn required, MFM fellowship can be considered.    
NY License required.
Experience in Quality Improvement (QI) Required.    
Board Certification or Board Eligibility required.
10+ yrs experience required.
