HopeWest, a non-profit healthcare organization, is seeking their next Medical Director of Hospice & Palliative Care to join them in scenic Grand Junction, Colorado!


The Position

  • The Medical Director of Hospice & Palliative Care will lead clinical operations for Hospice and Palliative Care services throughout HopeWest, overseeing functions within two locations with direct oversight on the program in all locations
  • Reporting directly to the VP of Hospice and Palliative Care, this leader will indirect oversight team of five physicians, five nurse practitioners, and the IDT team members. Direct reporting from the NPs and Physicians.
  • In collaboration with the PACE team, the Medical Director will focus on both administrative and clinical initiatives including care plans, case reviews, patient care, and process improvement throughout the department.
  • Seeking a clinically sound leader who will be able to foster trust through strong staff relationships, assess team dynamics, identify and remove barriers, leverage data to drive decisions, and provide recommendations for improvement and positive change. Additional responsibilities include clinical and administrative oversight related to workflow development, quality, and community services.
  • The ideal candidate is a hands-on, collaborative leader with a proven ability to build strong relationships and drive results. Additionally, this leader must be adaptive, communicative, and bring exceptional decision-making and business acumen skills to ensure that the program can achieve both long- and short-term goals.

Requirements

  • MD/DO is required.
  • A minimum of five years of hospice experience is required.
  • A minimum of five years of supervisory experience is highly preferred.
  • Board Certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine and/or Hospice Medical Director Board Certification preferred
  • Controlled substance license with current DEA license number.
  • Eligible or currently possess a Medicare/Medicaid NPI number.
  • Eligible or currently credentialed at local hospitals
  • Eligible to bill insurance for palliative care and symptom management visits.

Compensation Details

  • The base salary range for this position is $225,000 to $250,000 annually. In addition, a leader may be eligible for other benefits, including but not limited to health insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and bonuses. The total compensation for the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The base salary range listed above is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
