Job description Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Part-Time Regional Medical Officer to lead clinical operations across a designated region. This is a leadership role that blends direct patient care with strategic oversight of clinical performance and outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in medical practice, administrative expertise, and a passion for improving healthcare delivery through innovative and coordinated care models.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and operational oversight for clinical functions and medical management strategies within the assigned region.

Commit to a consistent 20-hour workweek, including in-home or facility-based visits with approximately 10 patients weekly.

Oversee and analyze regional clinical and financial outcomes to drive performance improvement.

Partner closely with the VP and General Manager to establish and grow clinical presence in new markets.

Deliver patient care in a variety of settings such as hospitals, clinics, and skilled nursing facilities.

Develop comprehensive care plans using input from patients, families, PCPs, and specialists.

Maintain strong relationships with local providers and non-clinical departments.

Review and assess P&L performance, report outcomes to senior leadership, and support business goals.

Supervise and support regional clinical staff with a focus on hiring, development, and performance evaluation.

Supervisory Duties:
Directly supervise physicians in the region with dotted-line oversight of all clinical staff.

Manage hiring, onboarding, training, performance assessments, and coaching.

Qualifications:
Required:

Must reside in or near El Paso, TX.

Medical degree with 2–3 years of experience in Hospitalist, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine (residents/fellows will be considered).

1–3 years of administrative leadership experience.

Understanding of utilization management (UM) and quality management (QM) processes.

Preferred:

1–3 years of experience in managed care environments.
