Our client, a community health center, is currently seeking to hire a Pediatric Medical Director. The Medical Director, reporting to the Senior Medical Director of Quality and Safety, along with the Section Chief of Pediatrics, oversees pediatric and school health programs for the sites/units and provides leadership and clinical oversight for the attending physicians and clinicians (NPs and PAs), as well as for residents, and health professions students assigned to the sites/units.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the Associate Medical Director of Pediatrics and the Associate Medical Director of the Pediatric School Health Program.
  • Direct the quality and clinical practice of pediatric attending physicians, non-physician providers (NPs, PAs, and CNMs), and any post-graduate trainees and health professions students assigned to the site/unit; and assures that all clinical services are provided in accordance with established FHC clinical standards for preventive, diagnostic and treatment services.
  • System-Based Practice:
  • Ensure compliance of all sites with all applicable requirements and obligations of the Joint Commission, the Section 330 grant, managed care contracts, applicable training grants and any other external funding sources and regulatory agencies.
  • Work effectively in various health care delivery settings and systems relevant to clinical specialty
  • Coordinate patient care within the health care system relevant to clinical specialty
  • Advocate for quality patient care and optimal patient care systems
  • Direct Clinical Responsibilities: The expectation is that this position is five (5) clinical sessions weekly.
  • Review, monitor and ensure the implementation of all applicable components of Quality Management Program.
  • Ensure in collaboration with medical site directors, that the ambulatory care components of any residency training program which may have residents assigned to this site/unit are appropriately integrated with other components of the training program.
  • Supervise and work closely with Associate Medical Director of the Pediatric School Health Program to establish Best Pediatric Practices in network

Job Requirements:

  • MD/DO
  • Board Certified
  • Pediatric Residency
  • Pediatric Fellowship (optional)
  • NY State Medical License
  • 1+ years of work experience in similar work setting
  • Spanish speaking preferred
