Position Overview

Seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician for a full-time locum opportunity in an established, high-acuity outpatient/consultative clinic. This role focuses on ultrasound interpretation, high-risk pregnancy consults, and advanced maternal care within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

This is a weekday-only, no-call position with strong clinical support and consistent patient volume.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Full-time coverage expected (approx. 1 week/month coverage needs may vary)
• No required call (call optional/preferred)
• No nights or weekend shifts

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide consultative care for high-risk pregnancies
• Interpret and perform advanced obstetric ultrasounds
• Manage complex maternal conditions, including:
  • Hypertension (including preeclampsia/HELLP)
  • Gestational and pre-existing diabetes
  • Cardiac, pulmonary, renal, neurological, and autoimmune disorders
  • Hematologic and oncologic conditions
  • Placenta previa and abruption
  • Multiple gestations
• Perform and interpret:
  • Level II targeted ultrasounds
  • Echocardiography
  • Amniocentesis and genetic procedures
• Collaborate with OB, nursing, and APP teams

Practice Details

• Setting: Clinic (hospital-based)
• EMR: Epic
• Patient Volume: ~25 patients/day
• Department Beds: 10
• Support Staff: 2 RNs, 2 MAs, 2 APPs
• Patient Population: Adult/childbearing age (18+)
• Trauma Level: I–IV hospital system

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine
• Active Pennsylvania medical license (or willingness to obtain)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year experience preferred
• Strong diagnostic ultrasound skills highly preferred
• DEA required
