Job Details / Responsibilities
- Provide maternal-fetal medicine care in both clinic and hospital settings
- Manage high-risk pregnancies (≈95% of cases)
- See an average of 27 patients per day
- Perform and manage conditions/procedures including:
- Amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, cerclage (preferred)
- High-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, multiple gestation, fetal growth restriction
- Genetic/chromosomal abnormalities and congenital conditions
- Pre-term labor, hypertension, thrombophilia, and other maternal-fetal complications
- Vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Work in a 2-provider model (one per site) with shared system support
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including NP, RN educator, sonographer, genetic counselor, and front office staff
- Utilize EPIC and Viewpoint EMR systems
- No supervisory responsibilities
- Facility features:
- 3 exam rooms
- Onsite ultrasound (GE 10 equipment)
- No onsite lab
- Level III nursery
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine (Required)
- Completion of MFM Fellowship (Required)
- Active Virginia medical license (Required)
- BLS certification (Required)
- AIUM Certification (Preferred)
- Ability to manage complex, high-risk obstetric cases and perform specialized MFM procedures
- NPDB Self-Query report (dated within 30 days, required at submission)
