Job description
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Locum Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician to provide office and inpatient coverage during an active recruitment period. The provider will join a two-physician service covering high-risk obstetrics, supported by an NP and multidisciplinary clinical staff. The practice primarily manages high-risk pregnancies and utilizes EPIC for documentation.

One physician per site (two-provider service model)

No supervisory responsibility over other healthcare providers
Job Details & Responsibilities
Practice Setting:
-
Office and inpatient coverage
-
95% high-risk pregnancies, 5% low-risk
-
Nursery Level III
-
3 exam rooms
-
Onsite ultrasound (GE 10 equipment)
-
No onsite lab
Clinical Responsibilities:
-
Management of high-risk maternal and fetal conditions
-
Care for patients with co-morbidities impacting pregnancy
-
Perform and manage procedures including:
-
Amniocentesis
-
Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS)
-
Cerclage (preferred)
-
-
Management of:
-
Pre-eclampsia
-
Multiple gestations
-
Fetal growth restriction
-
Chromosomal and congenital abnormalities
-
Pre-term labor
-
Hypertension and thrombophilia
-
Genetic disorders and birth defects
-
-
Participation in vaginal and cesarean deliveries as needed
Support Structure:

Required Skills & Qualifications
Required:
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine

Fellowship trained in MFM
-
Active Virginia (VA) medical license
-
BLS certification
-
Self-Query NPDB report (dated within 30 days of presentation)
Preferred:
-
AIUM Certification
This position is ideal for an experienced MFM physician comfortable managing complex, high-risk obstetrics in both outpatient and inpatient settings within a collaborative, two-provider model.
