Practice Setting
- Academic-affiliated health system
- Coverage across:
- Inpatient hospital setting
- Outpatient maternal–fetal medicine clinics
- Multiple affiliated off-site locations
- High-acuity, high-volume MFM service line
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide high-risk obstetrical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Perform and interpret:
- Obstetric ultrasounds
- Biophysical profiles
- Doppler studies
- Fetal diagnostic procedures
- Prenatal consultations for complex maternal and fetal conditions
- Inpatient consultation and co-management of high-risk OB patients
- Consultations for:
- Preterm labor
- Hypertensive disorders
- Diabetes
- Placental abnormalities
- Participate in multidisciplinary care planning for complex cases
- Supervise sonographers
- Collaborate with OB/GYN residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers
- Provide call coverage, including onsite support in Labor & Delivery for medically complex deliveries
Schedule
- Coverage Structure: Up to 5 days per week (clinic + call)
- Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Call Coverage: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM
- On Call: Yes
Patient Volume
- Ultrasound Scans: Approximately 130–150 per day
- Patient Visits: Approximately 40 per day

- Multidisciplinary MFM team
- Nursing support
- Ultrasound technicians
- Medical support staff
- Genetic counseling support
- Advanced Practice Provider on the service (locums provider not part of collaborative agreement)
Requirements
- Board Certification: ABOG required
- Strong experience managing high-risk obstetric populations
- Comfortable in high-volume academic-style practice
