We are potentially hiring for a qualified civilian Physician-Internal Medicine to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our veterans and their families at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. • Status: Full-Time – Independent Consultant • Schedule: This is a 24-hour patient facility, Monday - through Friday, between the hours of 7:00am – 5:00pm • Excellent financial package designed to attract compassionate, top performers • Malpractice provided with tail coverage The Physician-Internal Medicine must have the following qualifications: •Degree/Education: Must be a graduate of: an accredited medical school and completed an Accreditation Council for Medical Education (ACGME), Accredited Internal Medicine residency OR an accredited osteopathic medicine school and completed an American Osteopathic Association (AOA)/American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) residency in internal medicine acceptable to the Surgeon General, HQ USAF is mandatory within the last thirty (30) years. Foreign national physicians must meet requirements spelled out in AFI 44-119. • Certifications: In addition, must hold and maintain Basic Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications using American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines. •The Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician must have certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine. This must always remain current. • Board Certification: Board eligible or board certified as required in the task order. • Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine as required in the task order. • Experience: Successful completion of an internship and residency program (corresponding to the specialty required in the task order) which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association. Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (i.e., a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training). For purposes of this requirement, graduate training programs include only those internship, residency, and fellowship programs that are approved by accrediting bodies recognized within the United States or Canada. Descriptions of such programs are described below: • An internship program involves broadly based clinical practice in which physicians acquire experience in treating a variety of medical problems under supervision (e.g., internal medicine, surgery, general practice, obstetrics- gynecology, and pediatrics). Such programs are in hospitals or other institutions accredited for internship training an appropriate accrediting body. • A residency program involves training in a specialized field of medicine in a hospital or an institution accredited for training in the specialty by an appropriate accrediting body. • A fellowship program involves advanced training (beyond residency training) in a given medical specialty in either a clinical or research setting in a hospital or an institution accredited in the United States for such training • Due to contractual obligations with the DoD, Health Care Workers performing under this contract must either be a U.S. citizen, or as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, either a noncitizen national of the United State, lawful permanent resident of the United States, or alien authorized to work in the United States.
