Job Description & Requirements
General Non-Invasive Cardiology in Oregon
StartDate: ASAP

Columbia Memorial Hospital (CMH), in partnership with the Knight Cardiovascular Institute (KCVI) at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), is seeking applications for two full-time General Cardiologists, including one who will serve as the Medical Director for the CMH/OHSU Cardiology Clinic.

We are seeking candidates who are board-certified or board eligible in Cardiovascular Disease, with additional certifications or training in Advanced Imaging (ECHO, Nuclear or PET). This practice opportunity also comes with an academic appointment at OHSU, as well as access to the abundance of educational and research resources through KCVI.

Columbia Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed, full-service, not-for-profit, Level IV Trauma and Critical Access Hospital located in Astoria, Oregon. It is one of only five remaining independent hospitals in the state. CMH and OHSU have enjoyed a collaborative relationship since 2008. The relationship has since grown to include cancer, cardiology, emergency medicine, urology, interventional radiology, and general surgery care. CMH has become the fastest-growing rural hospital in the state of Oregon and has thrived in large part due to the strength and stability of their leadership.

  • The incoming cardiologists will be focused on general cardiology patient care predominantly in an ambulatory setting while working towards the goal of furthering the enhancement of general cardiology offerings at CMH. The clinic offers a full range of heart health services and procedures, as well as heart disease prevention programs including a comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation program.
  • The clinical responsibilities for the incoming provider will be ~80% community-based ambulatory practice, with the remaining time split between non-invasive diagnostic studies, imaging and professional enrichment at OHSU.
  • There is no overnight or weekend call requirement. This a team-based practice, including APPs, numerous support staff, techs, sonographers and at least one medical assistant for each provider.
  • We are seeking a Medical Director who will spend time developing relationships within the community while serving as the cardiology provider of preference throughout the region.

KCVI was established in 2012 by means of a $125M donation by Phil and Penny Knight. KCVI is an integrated center for translational research, clinical care, professional training and outreach in all aspects of heart and vascular disease at OHSU. 1,300+ surgical procedures performed; over 1 million patient visits per year; supports 120 faculty and 24 fellows; 100+ clinical trials and ~$12M in research funding.

This is a great opportunity to assume and grow an established and successful community-based ambulatory cardiology practice, within a beautiful, coastal Pacific Northwest community, while having ample support from world-renowned experts at OHSU/KCVI.
