Board certified/ board eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician Services to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Place of Performance: Services shall be provided on site at: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery (VA) Center 1500 East Woodrow Wilson Drive Jackson, Mississippi TX 77030

Period of Performance: 30 Sep 19 plus 4 government option years

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • There will be a requirement to provide physicians to work an extended hours schedule 3-4 times/year. The extended hour tours last for a one week period. The extended hour tours for the designated week(s) will be as follows: Monday – 10 hours, Tuesday – 10 hours, Wednesday – 8 hours, Thursday – 8 hours, Friday – off duty, and Saturday – 4 hours.

Qualifications:

  • License: Current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Contract physician who have current, full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states, but who have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
  • Board Certification: All contract physician(s) shall be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
  • BLS for the Healthcare Provider
  • DEA

Scope of Care: Contract physician(s) (as appropriate and within scope of practice/privileging) shall be responsible for providing Primary Care, including, but not limited to:

  • Evaluation, Treatment and Management: Employment of the principles of primary care initial evaluation, treatment and management of physical disorders and psychological.
  • Clinic: Contractor physician(s) shall be present on time for all scheduled clinics as documented by physical presence in the clinic at the scheduled start time.
  • Consultation and Referral Responsibilities: Contract physicians are responsible for consulting specialists when the scope of the patient’s care requires such intervention/referral
  • Medications: Contractor physician(s) shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.
  • Specialized CPRS Documentation Procedures: Patient documentation is completed using the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
  • Contract physician (s)shall document care given and select appropriate Evaluation and Management (E&M) procedure codes and ICD-10 codes in CPRS. Documentation must be sufficient to support all selected codes. Documentation and coding functions must be completed by the end of each patient care encounter.
