Excellent Hospitalist position in the Eastern Long Island area. A local community Hospital has an immediate opportunity for a full-time Hospitalist to perform all medical services and medical care for all unassigned and referred medical patients on med/surge and ICU. JOB ID #48387

Job Details:

• 12 hours/days: 7 days on and 7 days off
• Call with two (2) other physicians; 2) or work with private practice and work ¾ as a hospitalist
• Examines diagnoses, and treats hospitalized patients
• Manages patients through the continuum of hospital care, seeing patients in the ER and following them into the critical care unit and organizing post-acute care
• Orders treatments, tests, and consults with specialty physicians and primary care physician where appropriate
• Perform all medical services and medical care for all unassigned and referred medical patients on med/surge and ICU
• Handle medical consultation/management services for psychiatric unit, and perform medical care for all assigned patients in detox and rehab units
• 24-hour on-call responsibilities for all patients under hospitalist’s care for the duration of work schedule

Job Requirements:

• Board Certified or Eligible
• 2-4 years of experience preferred
• Active New York License
• Will consider recent graduates
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
