Location: Dayton VA Medical Center, Dayton, OH (onsite)
Employment Type: Contract — Non-Personal Healthcare Services
Pay Rate: $155.22/hour (target, commensurate with experience)

Position Overview
We are recruiting a Primary Care Physician to provide onsite, non-personal healthcare services to Veterans at the Dayton VA Medical Center. This is a contract position supporting the VA's Primary Care service line.
Required Qualifications
• Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or VHA-approved equivalency
• Current, unrestricted DEA registration
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
• No history of license restriction, suspension, revocation, voluntary surrender pending action, or denial upon application
Required Application Documents
• Current curriculum vitae (CV)
• Copy of current, unrestricted state medical license
• Evidence of Board Certification or Board Eligibility (Internal Medicine)
• Copy of current DEA certificate
• NPI confirmation (NPPES)

Job Responsibilities
Evaluation and treatment of patients, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies (laboratory, diagnostic imaging, EKG) and ordering medications
Discussion of end-of-life preferences / advance care planning
Consultations with sub-specialists
Discharge planning, including ensuring appropriate follow-up is arranged
Core clinical privileges include procedures such as abscess incision and drainage and fecal occult blood testing, plus other procedures requiring similar skill sets within scope of practice/privileging
Care coordination / consultation:
Provide consultation and instruction to referring physicians on appropriate indications for procedures
Determine appropriate course of treatment and communicate with referring clinicians (in person or by phone)
Initiate social work referrals for identified homeless veterans and patients without an assigned primary care provider
Operational:
Be physically present and on time for all scheduled clinic sessions
Document care in the VA electronic health record per VHA Directive 1907.01
Participate in daily team huddles and weekly PACT team meetings
Sign in/out to confirm hours worked against invoiced services
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine (PWS 2.1.5) — though note PWS 4.6.4.2 separately states all Providers (Physician/PA/NP) must be board certified/eligible in Family Practice per "ACC Standards," so there's an unresolved conflict between the two clauses worth confirming with the CO
Current BLS and ACLS certification, or VHA-approved equivalency
Current, unrestricted DEA registration
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
No history of license restriction, suspension, revocation, voluntary surrender pending action, or denial upon application
Eligible for privileging in accordance with VHA credentialing directives
