The Ideal Candidate:
  • 3-5 years of experience as a practicing physician in an outpatient setting
  • Ability to diagnose and treat a wide variety of chronic conditions and improve patient outcomes.
  • 1-3 years of management experience
  • Demonstrate competency in diagnosis and treatment to assure high standards of patient care and safety are maintained.
  • Patient-centered approach toward a positive patient experience.
  • Effective leadership communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • As a practicing clinician, examines patients, diagnoses and treats illnesses. Prescribes and administers treatment for patients suffering from injury or disease.
  • Implements strategic clinical initiatives at the direction of the Senior Medical Director(s) within their assigned region, in collaboration with office operational and nursing leadership and other senior leaders.
  • Collaborates with Senior Medical Director(s) to implement clinical provider outreach, education, and performance improvement focused on delivering patient-centered professional quality care and an excellent patient experience.
  • Supports regional offices regulatory compliance with delivery of clinical patient care.
  • Assists in the hiring process by interviewing physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistant candidates for Primary Care and providing hiring recommendations based upon ACPNY’s required competencies and desired behaviors.
  • Implements on-the-job training and assimilation efforts for new physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants to the medical center (e.g., assigns peer for shadowing, provides work direction, mentors, assigns schedules, initiates formal check-in meetings at set intervals).
  • Ensures priorities are aligned and resources are committed within their region to achieving the delivery of high-quality, clinical appropriate care, which exceeds the expectations of patients, against targets established by executive leadership and the Senior Medical Director(s).
  • Implements performance management strategies of Primary Care physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants at the direction of Senior Medical Director(s), to ensure adherence to policies, protocols and practice guidelines. This includes, monitoring of key metrics, such as physician encounters, RVUs, out of group referrals, in-basket response times, and Press Ganey scores, appropriately addressing issues and taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Assists in the interpretation of and compliance with Human Resources, ACPNY and departmental policies and procedures. Ensures employees understand and comply with local, state, federal and regulatory standards, as they apply to respective job functions.
  • Plans and facilitates monthly medical office meetings to communicate key initiatives and socialize change. Represents interests of medical office physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants during care team and non-provider staff meetings.
  • Prescribe medications and formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans.
  • Provide relationship-centered care, considering the patient’s psychosocial and physical needs.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.


Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent
  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • Completion of three year post graduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
  • Current, unrestricted New York State License to practice medicine
  • Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office

Working Hours

Monday - Friday approximately 40 hour work week
