A unique locum tenens opportunity is available in North Carolina (NC) for a Family Medicine physician seeking a full-scope rural practice experience combining Emergency Department and Inpatient care.
This assignment offers the chance to practice broad-spectrum medicine in a critical access hospital setting, ideal for physicians who value autonomy and variety in their clinical work.
Position Highlights
- Location: North Carolina
- Start Date: April 11
- Schedule: ~10 shifts/month
- Shift Options: 12-hour shifts (7a–7p or 7p–7a)
- Setting: Critical Access Hospital (solo provider coverage)
Clinical Responsibilities
- Emergency Department coverage (~25 patients/day; low hourly volume)
- Management of inpatient swing bed/rehab patients (2–3 daily)
- Admissions and ongoing inpatient care
Facility Details
- 17-bed hospital with 5 ED beds
- 24/7 ancillary support (lab, radiology, respiratory therapy)
- Established APC support team
- Temporary privileges available for qualified candidates
Requirements
- Board Certified/Eligible in Family Medicine (ABFM)
- Active ATLS, ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications
- Experience in both Emergency and Hospital Medicine
- Comfortable with independent (solo) practice
