Our client, a leading urban healthcare provider dedicated to delivering compassionate and high-quality inpatient care to diverse communities, is hiring a Nocturnist, Internal Medicine Physician to join their hospitalist team at a vibrant, 220-bed teaching hospital. This critical role offers the opportunity to impact patient lives during overnight hours, ensuring seamless inpatient care in a dynamic, multicultural environment. Take an active role in delivering comprehensive hospital-based care, managing patient conditions from admission through discharge, and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams to improve health outcomes. As a Nocturnist at this institution, you will oversee the evaluation, treatment planning, and medical procedures for hospitalized patients while maintaining thorough documentation and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate hospitalized patients to develop appropriate treatment protocols.
  • Manage and coordinate patient care plans, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
  • Perform medical procedures as needed to stabilize and improve patient health.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and family members regarding their conditions and care plans.
  • Monitor and adjust treatments based on patient progress.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of medical records.
  • Collaborate with specialists, ancillary staff, and hospital committees to uphold quality and safety standards.
  • Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to healthcare laws and policies.

Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree, or foreign equivalent qualification.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency program.
  • Board Eligible or Certified in Internal Medicine.
  • Current, unrestricted New York State medical license.
  • Active DEA registration or eligibility.
  • Active Medicare/Medicaid enrollment or eligibility.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and bedside manner skills.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office.
  • ACLS/BCLS certification.
  • 2 to 5 years of inpatient care experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle acute medical conditions efficiently and work effectively during night shifts.
