Coverage Needed
- Start Date: 03/16/2026
- End Date: 09/19/2026
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week
Clinical Details
- Provide professional medical services in a correctional facility
- Administer examinations, diagnose medical issues, prescribe medications, and provide treatment and follow-up care
- Participate in treatment team meetings and direct unit treatment operations
- Perform minor and occasional major surgeries
- Hold clinics for nursing specialists
- Maintain relationships with facility staff, nursing staff, contract providers, and outside agencies
- Utilize established policies and procedures, exercising independent judgment
- Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and facilitate early release when appropriate
- Prepare and maintain medical records and reports
- Support NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO accreditation efforts
- Accept on-call status
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of medicine
- Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment
- Valid driver's license
- US Citizenship required for ICE clearance
- Board eligibility required for privileges
- English proficiency: Read, Write, Speak
- Must live outside of a 70 mile radius from site
