Position Overview

As a Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO), you will:

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient care including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions

  • Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care

  • Respond to medical emergencies including codes and rapid response situations

  • Provide ventilator management

  • Order, interpret, and manage labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies

  • Collaborate closely with specialists, emergency physicians, respiratory therapists, CRNAs, nursing staff, and ancillary teams

  • Coordinate smooth transitions of care and discharge planning

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and follow-up care

  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality initiatives, and hospital committees

  • Maintain timely and accurate EMR documentation

No procedures required.
Specialty backup available (including surgeons for central lines, respiratory therapy, EM physicians, and CRNAs).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $300,000 – $350,000 annually

    • Based on experience, board status, education, and market factors

Candidate Requirements

  • MD or DO

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

  • Active Vermont Medical License

  • DEA (must be obtained prior to start – no exceptions)

  • BLS & ACLS Certifications

  • Ventilator management experience

  • Experience running codes

  • Clean malpractice history

  • Most recent NPDB Self-Query report (within 30 days at time of presentation)

Highly Preferred:

  • 2–3 years of Hospitalist experience

  • Rural health experience

  • Not open to locum or locum-to-perm candidates
