Job Opportunity: Locum - Physician - General Medicine in Houston, TX

Join a dedicated team providing essential medical services to our nation's Veterans! This role involves performing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments in a mission-driven environment, supporting the health and well-being of those who served.

Our facility is committed to a positive impact in the community, looking for compassionate and skilled General Medicine Providers to join our practice. This position offers either the convenience of working at a VES facility or the flexibility of your own office, making it accessible and accommodating.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
  • Perform primarily interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
  • Complete necessary reports and addendums based on examinations.
  • Quick credentialing and onboarding process.
  • Work on a PRN basis, with options for half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts.
  • Maintain regular follow-up administrative work as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in METs testing, and evaluating and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular issues.
  • Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine with exposure to compensation and pension evaluations.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to serving Veterans.
  • Ability to work independently in various settings, including your own office, if needed.

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Active and unrestricted license to practice in your state.
  • AANP certification is required.
  • Must complete DMA training to achieve DMA certification.
  • Own a laptop (Mac/Apple products not accepted).
