Internal Medicine Nocturnist Opening – Rome, NY * Syracuse 50m; Albany 90m Why This Role: Seeking a full-time, Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine physician to join the growing Hospitalist team as a Nocturnist at Rome Memorial Hospital in Rome, NY. This is a community-centered facility offering an exceptional inpatient practice opportunity with strong subspecialty and intensivist support. Position Details: * Provide comprehensive inpatient care to a manageable census of ~5–10 patients per night * Conduct admissions from the Emergency Department and direct admissions from referring physicians, including histories, physical exams, and diagnostics * Document all encounters in Paragon EMR, ensuring regulatory compliance * Manage acute medical conditions, including patients in the open ICU, with 24/7 intensivist support for complex cases * Collaborate with nursing, specialists, case managers, and ancillary teams to coordinate care and ensure safe, efficient patient flow * Arrange and coordinate discharges with proper follow-up, medications, and home care needs * Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and handoffs to ensure continuity of care * Engage in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory requirements * Mentor residents, students, or advanced practice providers as applicable * Apply evidence-based guidelines and demonstrate professionalism in all patient interactions * Participate in departmental meetings, ongoing training, and CME activities Requirements: * Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Internal Medicine (within 1 year of eligibility accepted) * NY medical license (or willingness to obtain) * DEA certification * Clean malpractice and license history * 1 year of hospitalist/nocturnist experience preferred but not required * Not accepting locums or visa candidates * 1099 candidates not accepted Clinical Details: * On-call: None * Weekend coverage: Every other weekend as part of 7-on/7-off rotation (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Compensation and Benefits: * Guaranteed base salary: $325,000 annually * Starting bonus: $15,000 * Productivity/quality bonuses available for additional earnings * Comprehensive health coverage: Medical, dental, vision * Malpractice insurance with tail coverage provided * Generous PTO and 5 CME days with annual CME allowance * 403(b) retirement plan with employer match * Short- and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) * Flexible Spending Accounts (health, dependent care) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) * Career advancement opportunities within Trinity Health * Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligible employer Certifications: Board Certified, Board Eligible, DEA State Licenses: New York
