Join Our Team as an Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology Specialist

Are you a dedicated Hematology and Oncology physician seeking a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact? We invite experienced providers to join our esteemed hospital-based practice, where you will play a vital role in managing patient care, overseeing treatments, and collaborating with a dedicated healthcare team. This position offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment, providing comprehensive care to patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide outpatient hematology and oncology services in a hospital-affiliated setting.
  • Manage a panel of established patients while also accepting new cases.
  • Cover four days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 8am-6pm with a lunch break), ensuring 10 guaranteed hours per week, with overtime available after 40 hours.
  • Engage in pre-charting, clinical consultations, and follow-up documentation within scheduled hours.
  • Respond to patient calls and manage urgent reactions during treatments, coordinating with nursing staff and APPs.
  • Oversee chemotherapy orders with physician signatures; nursing staff handles administration.
  • Monitor patients during infusions, manage adverse reactions, and respond swiftly to urgent situations until rapid response teams arrive.
  • Communicate with patients and staff effectively, ensuring quality care and patient satisfaction.
  • Obtain necessary hospital privileges for hospital-based practice.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Active Ohio medical license and DEA registration.
  • Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Proven experience in outpatient hematology and oncology, with excellent clinical judgment.
  • Ability to respond promptly to emergent situations and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
  • Prior experience managing infusion treatments and patient triage.
  • Familiarity with hospital privileges processes and documentation.
  • Advanced skills in patient communication and support.

Preferred Education & Experience:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in hematology and oncology practice settings.

Other Requirements:
  • Active Ohio medical license and ability to obtain hospital privileges.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to work scheduled hours as specified.
