We are seeking an experienced Medical Director to join a highly collaborative medical management team focused on clinical excellence, consistency, and quality outcomes. 🧠 Role Overview

As a Medical Director, you will provide clinical oversight and medical necessity determinations to ensure services align with national guidelines, CMS requirements, and organizational policies. After completing structured and mentored onboarding, you will work independently while collaborating closely with a highly engaged clinical team.

🩻 Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive, timely medical necessity reviews for inpatient services

  • Ensure compliance with CMS, national guidelines (MCG®, InterQual), and facility policies

  • Maintain accountability for productivity, quality, and compliance metrics

  • Clearly communicate clinical determinations verbally and in written form

  • Adapt to evolving workflows, tools, and utilization management practices

  • Participate in educational initiatives, including presenting and developing clinical content

  • Contribute to a culture of consistency, innovation, and continuous improvement

🎯 Preferred Experience

  • Managed care or utilization management experience (Medicare Advantage, Managed Medicaid, or Commercial plans)

  • Familiarity with MCG® or InterQual guidelines

  • Hospital-based clinical background in:

    • Internal Medicine

    • Family Medicine

    • Geriatrics

    • Hospital Medicine

    • Emergency Medicine or other hospital-based specialties

  • Comfort working in fast-paced, metrics-driven environments

  • Strong interest in healthcare innovation and technology-enabled workflows

📋 Requirements

  • MD or DO degree

  • Board Certified in an ABMS-recognized specialty

  • 5+ years of post-training clinical experience, preferably inpatient and/or Medicare-focused

  • Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one jurisdiction (additional licenses as needed)

  • No federal or state sanctions; must meet credentialing standards

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and clinical interpretation abilities

  • Proven success working collaboratively in team-based environments

  • Full-time 40 hours per week

  • Rotating weekend coverage to ensure timely case review and decisions
