Job description
A full-time Nocturnist is needed to join a growing hospitalist program in a community-centered inpatient setting. This role offers a manageable nightly census, strong subspecialty and intensivist support, and an excellent work environment focused on quality patient care.
Job Responsibilities
Perform admissions from ED and direct referrals
Conduct histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations
Document in EMR (Paragon) accurately and timely
Manage acute and complex conditions with intensivist backup
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and patient handoffs
Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care
Collaborate with nursing, specialists, and case management
Support quality, performance, and patient-safety initiatives
Comply with medical staff bylaws and regulatory standards
Provide mentorship to trainees (if applicable)
Maintain evidence-based, patient-centered care
Qualifications
Active New York license or willingness to obtain
DEA required
Clean malpractice history
1 year of hospitalist/nocturnist experience preferred
Not accepting locums, visa candidates, or 1099 arrangements
Working Hours
Night shift coverage with hospitalist team support

Ability to manage open ICU cases with intensivist support
