Locum Primary Care Physician needed in New Jersey

Family Practice Locum Tenens – Outpatient Primary Care (AtlantiCare, Rio Grande, NJ)

AtlantiCare Primary Care—Rio Grande is seeking a Family Practice physician to provide ongoing outpatient coverage due to a recent provider departure. This is a daytime-only outpatient role with no call, no inpatient work, and no ED responsibilities. The site is open to both pure locum and locum-to-perm candidates.

Dates / Schedule

• Coverage Start: January/February

• Duration: Ongoing

• Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday

• No call, no inpatient work, no emergency department backup

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Setting: Primary Care / Family Practice

• Location: Rio Grande, NJ

• EMR: Cerner

• Trauma Level: II (hospital designation, though this role is outpatient only)

• Reason for Need: Provider departure

• Supervision: None required

• Estimated Credentialing: ~90 days

• Travel:

  • Local providers only

  • Mileage reimbursement at standard IRS rate

Clinical Duties:

• Adult outpatient primary care

• EKG interpretation

• Disability exams (occupational medicine)

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine – Required

• Active NJ medical license – Preferred (may obtain prior to start)

• BLS certification – Required

• Experience in adult outpatient care – Required

• Proficiency in EKG interpretation – Required

• Experience performing disability exams – Preferred

• Experience with Cerner EMR – Preferred

• Prior outpatient clinic/primary care experience – Preferred
