Primary Care Physician Leadership Opportunity in Memphis, Tennessee

Step into a physician leadership role where you can shape care delivery while maintaining meaningful patient relationships. This full-time Primary Care Physician Pod Leader position offers a blend of clinical practice and team oversight within a home-based care model. If you value autonomy, manageable patient volume, and protected time for leadership, this opportunity offers a refreshing alternative to traditional clinic settings.


Practice Overview

  • You'll lead and mentor a team of 2 Advanced Practice Providers within a home-based primary care model
  • Manage a focused panel of ~140 patients with an emphasis on chronic disease management and care coordination
  • 6-8 patient visits per day (30-40 minutes each) in patients' homes
  • Provide clinical oversight, conduct chart audits, lead high-risk huddles, and collaborate with care coordinators and social workers


Schedule

  • Monday-Friday schedule, start the day around 8/8:30 am, ending 4:30/5:00 pm; no weekends or evenings
  • Approximately half your week dedicated to direct patient care; half to leadership and administrative time
  • ~6 hours of patient care during clinical days within an 8-hour workday
  • Quarterly ride-alongs with APPs and structured leadership responsibilities built into schedule


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $250,000-$285,000, depending on experience
  • $50,000 retention bonus plus relocation assistance
  • Guaranteed $25,000 first-year quality bonus with ongoing annual bonus potential
  • 3 weeks PTO, 10 holidays, 401(k) with match, full health benefits, CME/DEA/licensure reimbursement, malpractice with tail


Candidate Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required
  • Active medical license and active CPR certification
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record (home-based care model)
  • Board Certification preferred; 1 year of experience within a similar care model a plus
