The GV Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center is seeking a dynamic Primary Care Physician to provide exceptional care to our nation’s Veterans. Key Responsibilities:
- Uses assessment skills to examine patients thoroughly using appropriate clinical, laboratory and other pertinent data.
- Initiates appropriate and timely treatment.
- Acts quickly in recognizing emergency situations and taking timely necessary action.
- Promptly and completely reports physical examinations and changes in patient status.
- Accurately interprets and evaluates clinical data for the purpose of determining diagnosis and clinical status.
- Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the administrative, clinical, or educational programs.
Preferred Experience:
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- 3 or more years of experience in a Primary Care Setting.
- Prior experience in the hospital, emergency or trauma setting.
Job Responsibilities
Likely starting base salary range: $245,000.00 - $275,000.00
Malpractice: Liability protection
50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Qualifications
Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage clinical and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or
Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
