Job description IM Program Director Opening in Alabama Located in Huntsville, AL - Birmingham & Chattanooga 100m Full-time; Permanent Seeking a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Program Director. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to oversee the Internal Medicine Residency Program in Huntsville, Alabama. Overview: - Hospital employed opportunity - A 180-bed full-service acute care hospital - 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) administrative/educational, non-clinical time - 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) clinical service in outpatient internal medicine (direct patient care and resident supervision) - Develop the initial GME teaching program, including vision, mission, and curriculum - Participate in submitting the initial program application for accreditation in conjunction with the sponsoring institution - Recruit, appoint, evaluate, and retain program leadership (Associate Program Director, Core Faculty, Subspecialty Education Coordinators, Program Coordinator) in accordance with ACGME requirements - Assist with and attend didactics/education activities, including lectures, journal club, M&M conferences, orientation week, simulation day, and research days - Lead interview process for residency program candidates on select days - Develop and ensure residents understand educational goals and rotation schedules - Ensure residents receive required hands-on clinical training per ACGME internal medicine requirements - Provide residents with informal and formal feedback throughout supervisory periods - Complete and review formal evaluations at the end of each rotation - Aggregate and share group/team feedback on resident performance when multiple supervisors are involved Qualifications: - Physician must be board-certified in the United States in the field of Internal Medicine - Must have a genuine desire to teach and mentor residents - Minimum of 3+ years of documented administrative and/or academic leadership experience required to ensure effective implementation of ACGME requirements Comp/Benefits: - Competitive salary - Relocation assistance - Commencement bonus - Medical loan repayment assistance - Full malpractice coverage - Office space will be provided - Comprehensive health benefits package including 401(k) - Paid CME time with annual allowance - Personal time off (PTO) - Licensure, dues, and subscriptions - Faculty appointment options available About Huntsville: - Over 100 miles of public walking, biking, and hiking trails - Nearby mountains and scenic outdoor adventures - A growing arts and entertainment scene, including a state-of-the-art amphitheater - The largest privately owned arts facility in the southern U.S.
