We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Internal Medicine - Gastroenterologist to address critical shortages in our gastrointestinal (GI) coverage across two hospitals. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to provide expert care, enhance patient outcomes, and support hospitals during times of increased demand. As part of our team, you will play a key role in managing hospitalized patients, providing consults, and ensuring continuity of GI services in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Required Skills:
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology
- Proven clinical expertise in adult gastrointestinal disorders
- Strong diagnostic and procedural skills applicable to inpatient and outpatient settings
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to handle complex cases with professionalism and compassion
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in hospital-based GI consults
- Proficiency with endoscopic procedures
- Familiarity with hospital workflows and electronic health records (EHR)
- Bilingual abilities or additional language skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of residency and fellowship training in Gastroenterology
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting is preferred
Other Requirements:
- Active medical license in the state of practice
- Certification in ACLS/BLS
- Ability to cover both hospitals while on call, including weekdays and weekends
- Willingness to participate in various call scenarios: 24-hour call only, 24-hour call with clinic hours, or clinic coverage only
- Must comply with all Employee Health requirements and Privileges delineation specific to our facilities
- Flexibility to work according to the outlined shifts, with potential travel reimbursements if applicable
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00
