Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Medical Director (MD/DO) with a background in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine to oversee clinical care at two skilled nursing facilities in Statesville, NC. The role is part-time, with coverage spread across 3 days per week (1 day at one facility and 2 days at the other).

This opportunity is ideal for a physician interested in post-acute care leadership and dedicated to improving patient outcomes in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight for two skilled nursing facilities (close proximity).

• Cover 3 days per week (typically 6-8 hours per day).

• Ensure high-quality patient care, compliance, and best practices in post-acute/long-term care.

• Collaborate with nursing staff, administrators, and interdisciplinary teams.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and clinical program development.

• Handle rapid responses and codes.

• No procedures required - focus on patient care.

• Work in an open ICU setting.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

• Board Certified / Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.

• Active and valid North Carolina medical license.

• Experience in post-acute or skilled nursing facility settings preferred.

• Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills.
