A part-time Locum Tenens opportunity is available for a Primary Care Physician to provide outpatient care in a rural Southern Virginia clinic. This role is ideal for a provider seeking a steady yet flexible schedule with no call or weekend duties. The clinic sees a mix of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients with an average of 20 patients per day.
Job Responsibilities
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses in a family practice setting.
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, I&D, and general pediatric care.
• Accurately document patient encounters using Epic EMR.
• Collaborate with on-site behavioral health professionals and make referrals as necessary.
Qualifications
• Active Virginia State Medical License – Required
• BLS Certification – Required
• Must be comfortable treating patients of all ages
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
Working Hours
Shift Time: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
No weekends or on-call responsibilities
Skills
• Proficient in minor outpatient procedures
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
• Adaptability in a rural clinical setting
• EMR proficiency (Epic preferred)
