Job Opportunity: Locum Physician in General Medicine
Join a dedicated team providing essential care to our nation's Veterans! We are seeking General Medicine Providers based in the Houston area to conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This position is part of a respected government contractor dedicated to serving Veterans. We have flexible coverage options available: you can either work from your own office within a specified radius or at a designated facility. This opportunity offers ongoing, PRN work with an emphasis on quick credentialing and onboarding.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
- Perform primarily interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- No prescribing or treatment involved.
- Complete necessary reports including addendums following each examination.
- Engage with Veterans in a respectful and compassionate manner throughout the evaluation process.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in METs testing and evaluating respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
- A minimum of a medical degree and relevant experience in general medicine.
- Previous experience with Compensation & Pension examinations is a plus.
- Must own a laptop (no Mac/Apple products).
- Active and unrestricted full medical license.
- Willingness to complete DMA training for certification.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Current medical license number.
- Certification number from an accredited body.
- Must be certified by the AANP.
- DMA certification (if applicable).
