The East Harlem Council for Human Services, Inc., announces an opening for a qualified:
MEDICAL DIRECTOR OF ADULT MEDICINE (MD)
The Medical Director of Adult Medicine position is based at the Boriken Neighborhood Health Center, a state-of-the-art Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and NCQA-accredited Patient-Centered Medical Home in East Harlem offering comprehensive pediatric and adult primary care, specialty care, and the Boriken Pharmacy.
Responsibilities: Oversees and leads the effective functioning of the Adult Medicine Services at the Health Center. Provides comprehensive primary care services in an ambulatory care setting. Contribute to quality improvement, supervision of Advanced Practice Practitioners, after-hours call coverage, and other programmatic and clinical functions.
Qualifications: • Graduate of approved medical school • Completion of approved residency •Internal Medicine Board Certified or Board Eligible required •New York State Medical License • DEA registration • Bilingual Spanish preferred • Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of principles and practices of Internal Medicine • Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct comprehensive treatment plans • Expressed commitment to work in partnership with colleagues and to guide staff to deliver a high quality of care to health center patients. Must have Active NYS Medicaid/Medicare Provider #.
Schedule: Full time (35 hours per week, 7 hours per day with an unpaid lunch), typically 1 Saturday per month is required with a flexible work schedule for that week
