Job description
We are seeking a Locum Tenens Physician - Internal Medicine in California.
Position Title: Locum Tenens Physician - Internal Medicine
Location: California
Start Date: ASAP (as soon as credentialed)
Shift Details: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Duration: 6 months to 1 year
Position Details:
Practice Setting: Outpatient Internal Medicine clinic.
Duties:
- Typical IM clinic population with an average patient age of 70.
- Common conditions include diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, CHF, and other comorbidities.
Procedures Required: None required.
Patient Load: Providers see 12–18 patients per day, depending on complexity.
Support Staff: MA's, MOR's, RN, and an APP in the clinic.
EMR System: Cerner.
Reason for Coverage: Replacement for a retiring provider.
Compensation & Reimbursement:
Rate:
Hourly: Up to $145/hour.
Holiday Rate: 1.5x regular rate.
Orientation: Half the hourly rate for training beyond 8 hours.
Requirements:
Licensing: Active California medical license.
Certification:
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine (Geriatrics preferred).
- Family Medicine candidates with IM experience will also be considered.
- Additional Requirements: BLS certification and clean malpractice/license history preferred.
Additional Information:
Credentialing Timeframe: 2–3 months.
Call Requirements: Minimal; no weekend or after-hours call.
