Job Description:
As an Internal Medicine MD, you will provide comprehensive medical care to patients, both in the clinic and in units for those unable to be transported. Your role includes interpreting medical studies and specialty recommendations, performing basic office procedures, and offering telephone consultations. You will work closely with psychiatrists to manage and prevent metabolic syndrome caused by medications, and you may need to refer patients to external specialists. Additionally, you will participate in committees, attend departmental meetings, and engage with families and agencies to enhance patient care
Job Responsibilities
• Provide general medical ambulatory care to patients.
• Visit patients in units who cannot be brought to the clinic.
• Interpret specialty recommendations and in-house procedures/studies.
• Perform basic office procedures.
• Offer telephone consultations in general medicine.
• Collaborate with unit psychiatrists on metabolic syndrome prevention and treatment.
• Refer patients to outside medical specialists as needed.
• Serve on OSH committees and attend relevant meetings and seminars.
Qualifications
• MD/DO degree from accredited university
• Active Oregon Medical Licensure through the Oregon Board of Examiners
• Active certifications: BLS, DEA
• 2 years of experience or more, with a background in corrections or government facilities being beneficial
• Board Certification/Board Eligible preferred
